Schenectady County Public Health Services is partnering with the Alliance for Positive Health to offer FREE first doses of the MPOX vaccine at Schenectady Pride.
The mpox virus can spread through close, personal, often skin-to-skin contact. Vaccination is an important tool in preventing the spread of mpox, and may still protect against severe illness, hospitalization, and death. To be considered fully vaccinated individuals must receive 2 doses, 28 days apart.
No-cost MPOX vaccines are also available at Schenectady Community Ministries (837 Albany Street, Schenectady) on Fridays from 2-4:00 p.m. (closed on county holidays).
