The mpox virus can spread through close, personal, and often skin-to-skin contact. Vaccination is an important tool in preventing the spread of mpox, and may still protect against severe illness, hospitalization, and death. To be considered fully vaccinated individuals must receive 2 doses, 28 days apart.
