HIV, STI, & Hep C Testing

HIV, STI, & Hep C Testing

The Alliance for Positive Health provides a robust continuum of community-based free, confidential HIV, STI and HCV testing for those who are at high risk and do not access testing from their medical provider. We utilize rapid HIV, HCV and syphilis screens with preliminary results during the test counseling session. We confirm reactive results with testing through blood draws with several days for turnaround. We also provide urine screening for chlamydia and gonorrhea with results in a few days.

Undetectable=Untransmittable:

The Alliance for Positive Health works towards ending the epidemic and eliminating stigma through Undetectable=Untransmittable (U=U). The concept is a simple but important campaign based on a foundation of scientific evidence. Individuals who take antiretroviral therapy (ART) and maintain an undetectable viral load can not sexually transmit the HIV virus to others. The goal of U=U is to reduce the amount of stigma felt by someone living with HIV. With less stigma and more treatment, we can reach our goal of ending the epidemic.

Testing and Screenings Include:

  • HIV: The rapid HIV test is a quick finger prick with results in 20 minutes or less.
  • Gonorrhea & chlamydia screening: multi-site testing available: urine, throat, and rectum. Results within a week.
  • Hepatitis C: A quick finger prick, results in 20 minutes.
  • Syphilis: A quick finger prick and/or a simple blood draw.

Testing services are risk-based, so speak with your test counselor on which tests you may qualify for.

Testing Together: Getting an HIV test can be difficult, if not downright scary — and telling your partner the results can be even more difficult.

Testing Together provides an opportunity for you and your partner to have your HIV test together and get your test results together, with a trained counselor present to help you talk about the results. Testing and receiving your results together can start an ongoing healthy conversation between you and your partner about HIV in your relationship, and allow you to talk openly about building a protection plan together.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, we are currently unable to provide Testing Together. However, each partner may still test separately by appointment only.

Walk-In Testing Hours:

Testing services are currently available by appointment only. Please call or text 518.917.3055 or email witesting@alliancefph.org with your contact information to schedule an appointment.
