The unique power of peer workers is based on “shared lived experience.” Client Support Specialists have a unique ability to share strategies to promote health by acting as trusted educators, mentors for adopting healthy behavior, role models, and a source of social and emotional support. At the Alliance for Positive Health, Client Support Specialists work in all program services, providing additional support to our clients, many of whom have chronic illness, and a history of substance use, mental health issues, trauma, incarceration, and housing instability.

Alliance for Positive Health
The Alliance for Positive Health provides a continuum of direct services to people living with HIV/AIDS and their family members. We also offer care management to people with other chronic illnesses who are enrolled in Medicaid as well as prevention programs that offer effective, innovative solutions that make a significant impact on reducing new HIV infections.
